Ho-Ho-Kus Class Ho-Ho-Kus New Dancer Class

HO-HO-KUS CLASS FOR NEW DANCERS

Scottish country dancing is great exercise, eminently social, mentally stimulating, and fun!

During the regular dance year the hour from 7 to 8 pm is geared toward newer dancers, although all dancers are welcome.

If you are completely new to Scottish Country Dancing, please sign up for our New Dancer class offered as part of the Midland Park Community School. In the 2024/2025 season we'll probably be offering it in February.

The class is 6 sessions held at our regular dance site in Ho-H-Kus. Classes assume no previous experience and you will learn the steps, dance patterns (“formations”) and easy dances each week.

Come by yourself or with a friend – you’ll dance in “sets” with other new dancers and some experienced dancers to help you along. Bring a pair of non-slippery soft shoes, sneakers, or ballet slippers – no special equipment needed. Watch this page for details about registration and scheduling.

COVID PRECAUTIONS

(As of of Fall 2024) Covid vaccination is strongly recommended; please consider the other dancers. Masking is not currently required.
